Confessional Statements

CLBC has its own written Confession expressing an eclectic gathering of ideas which we believe flow from the Bible and express our faith (see below); this reflects our present and personal faith.  We also affirm the 1689 Baptist Confession as a most helpful document in the history of Baptists, and use it as well; this reflects our historical faith.  And it also should be noted here that as a cooperating church with the Southern Baptist Convention (also called in some places ‘Great Commission Baptists’) and the Baptist State Convention of North Carolina, we affirm the Baptist Faith and Message 2000; this reflects our cooperative faith.

“…that which we have seen and heard we proclaim also to you, so that you too may have fellowship with us; and indeed our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son Jesus Christ.”     (1 John 1:3)
