The Doctrines of Grace
The Necessity for Grace
We believe that man is totally incapable of saving himself, and therefore, we are utterly reliant upon God’s grace, to overcome our rebellion, blindness, and effectively draw us to the Savior.
The Spirit’s Grace
We believe that God’s Spirit, at the proper time, illuminates the Word of Christ, to overcome the rebellion of undeserving sinners, whom the Father has freely chosen unto salvation. The Holy Spirit regenerates the believer, giving new and eternal life.
The Son’s Grace
We believe in a definite design in the atonement accomplished by Jesus Christ, securing everything necessary for the salvation of those chosen in Him, including their faith. The atonement secures the faith that justifies the sinner, and reconciles that person to God.
The Father’s Grace
We believe in the Father’s choosing us in Christ before creation, not based on anything in us, but based on His own good and perfect will, to magnify His own Glory, and our joy in Him. The Father adopts us into His family, by receiving us in Christ. The Father’s electing grace is a cause for evangelism, for every local church, since God has many people in the places which He has assigned to them.
Persevering Grace
We believe in the ultimate victory of all of God’s children by faith, as promised in the new covenant, and obtained by the blood of the Cross. This is different than making a “profession of faith” and never living for God; this is living by faith “in God” to the end, so as to indicate by worthy lives, that we are God’s children, for the glory of His grace.
