Children’s Ministry

Deeply Rooted In God's Word
Vision
- Devotional children who know and enjoy God’s Word.
- Relational children who display God’s Glory.
- Missional children who honor their parents.
Services Offered
- Sunday School classes are offered each Sunday morning from 9:45 to 10:45am. The following classes are available: Infants/Toddlers, Preschool and Primary Grades classes.
- Nursery (birth to age 2) is offered during the morning worship service that begins at 11:00am.

A Note From the Director
It is my privilege to serve as the Director of Children’s Ministry at CLBC. Those serving in the Children’s Ministry area are excited that we are given the opportunity to serve you by caring for your children. We seek to help partner with you as you teach your child in a God-honoring way. We are honored and look forward to watching your child grow, not only physically, but spiritually. If we can assist you in anyway regarding your child, please let us know. We look forward to teaching your child as we strive to help them become “deeply rooted and growing in God’s word.” For further information, questions, comments or suggestions, please contact Shelly Hardison at 910-324-4552 or email at

Curriculum
We use God-centered curriculum in our children’s department, along with other like-minded materials to aid us in serving you and your children. We use as our curriculum, Children Desiring God. You may view this curriculum at:
This curriculum is used in both Sunday School and Nursery. We also provide “church bags” for children who choose to worship with us in the regular church service. These bags contain coloring sheets or activities that extend from the current Sunday School lesson. Please ask if your child is interested in these supplies during the worship service.
Children’s Ministry Guidelines
Please adhere to the following guidelines in order to help ensure and maintain a healthy and safe environment for our children:
- Label your children’s belongings. This includes bottles, sippy cups, diaper bags, etc.
- Sign your child in and out during drop off and pick up times.
- Fill out a child information sheet which will remain on file and update as necessary.
- Refrain from bringing sick children to Sunday School or worship service, as this exposes them to illnesses.
- If your child is on medication, please notify the workers upon drop-off. Ministry workers will administer diaper cream or powder if needed, with a permission slip. The ONLY other medication that will be administered, with a permission slip, are emergency medications such as an asthma inhaler, an Epi-Pen, etc. All other necessary medications should be administered by the parent or guardian.
A Little Bit About Those Who Serve…
- Members of CLBC
- Exhibit a genuine love for children
- Believers in Christ

- Qualified lead teachers, all teachers attend on-going trainings.
How About During Worship Service?
We welcome all children in our worship service. Although we recognize that families worshiping together is of utmost importance, we do realize that sometimes your child has a need, or is becoming a distraction to you or others worshiping around you. We do not expect every child to be able to participate in worship, therefore, the nursery and the mother’s room is offered to you as a ministry.
