My favorite part was when Washer said that many preachers could be sued for ‘nonpractice’ due to their nominal preaching.

Good article. It’s clear that Christ intended for Christians to be members of his church. Membership in a church was important to Christ and it should be important to us as well. In addition, the church should be a place where Christians are cared for and loved by each other and by the leadership of the church.

Is it worth it to follow Jesus Christ supremely? Yes, there is nothing more worthwhile, nothing that will bring us more joy than knowing that “it is God who works in you, both to will and to work for his good pleasure.” (Philippians 2:13) I love this verse for it tells me that the Holy, Righteous God is working his will in me to make me what he wants me to be and it brings him pleasure. Knowing that God, who does all things for his glory, is working his will in us should certainly bring us joy and make us desire to follow Christ supremely.
